New Framed Railway Wall Art

Class 58 58001 Red Stripe Railfreight Framed Swash

New Wall Art Featuring All Your Favourite Locos

We are pleased to present our new line for railway enthusiasts – framed railway art.

The 1st design is an all new design combining the new locomotive line drawings from Andy at J.A.M. Arts with an abstract colour swash.

The 2nd design sees our Replica Data Panels mounted in a frame to create a new twist on our popular signs.

Locomotive Framed Colour Swash

Our next framed design features a highly detailed line drawing of the locomotive placed over an abstract take on the loco livery. This creates a unique and eye catching piece of wall art that would look fantastic on every railway enthusiasts wall!

Wer print the designs onto metal signs which are then mounted on a white mount board and placed in a 530mm x 280mm wooden frame and look stunning!

We have every shunter, diesel and electric locomotive class available along with a growing range of steam locomotives! Simply order the loco number and livery and we will create a line drawing featuring your loco along with all the nuances found on the loco at the time it carried your chosen livery.

In collaboration with J.A.M. Arts we have researched and created all new locomotive line drawing artwork. This has involved many hours researching photos of the actual locos to recreate a whole new range of locomotive line drawings. Long gone are those historical drawing errors and inaccuracies you may see offered elsewhere!

Framed Loco Data Panels

For this design, we took the standard loco data panel metal sign, mounted it onto a white mount and put them in a nice black 400mm x 300mm wooden frame.

Our replica locomotive data panel designs are referenced to photos of your chosen loco in service whilst carrying your chosen livery. The product is tweaked to reflect specific features such as positioning of depot sticker, local depot livery embellishments, depot mascot stickers and so on.

The standard design is then enhanced by mounting onto a white mount and then added to a 400mm x 300m black wooden frame.

New Military Art Gallery

Wall Art print featuring a Lancaster Bomber taking off into a moonlit sky

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

The New Military Art Gallery Has Arrived

I have a new dedicated military art gallery page to bring all my military pictures and digital art portfolio together. In response to your interest and enthusiasm towards my military art at our shows, I have worked on increasing my military art work collection. I have now created a military art gallery to bring all military themed artwork together in one single gallery.

Art work is still visible in their respective categories such as aircraft, vehicles or digital art. This new gallery simply brings everything with a military theme into an additional picture gallery. Its just another way to help you quickly get to a relevant type of picture.

Please let me know your thoughts on this new military gallery.

Thanks for reading

2016 What A Year For GDMK Images

Ted helping out with photographing a stunning sunset at Morrow Bay

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

2016 What A Year For GDMK Images

Wow, what a year 2016 was! Personally and professionally, 2016 was a year to remember.

Personally, several ‘bucket list’ items were ticked off as we traveled across the US and The Caribbean during the spring.

Professionally we made great strides in solidifying the GDMK Images brand as a quality source of creative and unique artwork and photography. 2016 was our first full year taking our art stall around the country and was a great success. Its really satisfying so many people show their appreciation for our work.

It’s easy to bulk buy mass produced products at a low price point and resell them. We are not about selling for the sake of selling. We are about creating something different – something a little special that can’t be bought elsewhere.

I am passionate about the subjects in my work and I hope that comes through in my unique art style.

We made some great friends and met some really cool people along the way. Its not all about selling you know!

Below is a quick video summary of GDMK Images in 2016. The first video shows a taster of what you will see in our #tedontourusa trip blog posts. Part 1 of the Ted on Tour USA blog series is already available.

The second video is the soundtrack of our summer events, a soundtrack dominated by English Electric, Merlins, Napier, a bit of sizzling steam and a few other oddities thrown in![/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

Remember to subscribe to the GDMK Images newsletter to keep up with our latest news and events or alternatively keep an eye on the Where to Find GDMK Images Page

What Can You Expect From GDMK Images in 2017?

Ted Has A Date With Sally B At Flying Legends

Ted gets to grips at the business end with Sally B at Flying Legends

Ted Has A Date With Sally B At Flying Legends

So we are back home recovering from a long three days at the Flying Legends airshow. All the orders we took have been processed and will be with their respective buyers early next week. Thanks again guys n gals, your trade and support is much appreciated!

Ted had a great time at the Flying Legends with his personal highlight being a date with B-17 Flying Fortress Sally B!! That bear gets around, last visit to Duxford he gets a flight in a C-47 Skytrain!

Many thanks to Andrew and Geraldine for arranging this![/vc_column_text][ess_grid alias=”teds-date-with-sally-b-at-flying-legends”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Great Flying Display

As usual, the flying display was pretty good, although the weather did prevent a couple of displays. My personal favourite aircraft were the Avenger and Sea Fury – both very impressive. The famous Duxford ‘Tail Chases’ were a little thin on the ground. I’m not sure if this was to do the changes imposed by the CAA in response to Shoreham or simply there being insufficient aircraft?

Unusually for the Flying Legends, a modern fighter made an appearance in the shape of the USAF  F-22 Raptor. The Raptor flew with a P-51 in the USAF Heritage flight display. I have seen many F-22 aircraft at Nellis but this was the first display I have seen and it was pretty impressive.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Crowds A Little Thin

From our viewpoint, although sales were healthy, the crowds did seem thin on the ground. I suppose this was to be expected as the event clashed with RIAT at Fairford, the British Grand Prix and some funny game with yellow balls in South London.

Hopefully there will be a nice healthy crowd when we return in September!

Image Theft

Here is an interesting discussion point. What are your thoughts on image theft by people taking photos of artwork? I am getting increasing numbers of people innocently walking into the stall and covertly taking pictures. This activity was rife at Flying Legends.

I don’t know why people would do that as much better quality images can be had from this site and even better quality pictures can be bought there and then! I stop most people and they seem annoyed I intervene and prevent them taking photos. I wouldn’t mind so much if they were up front and said ‘great picture I want to share it on social media’ and gave us a mention.

Is it theft? Would people expect to walk into an art museum or exhibition and snap away unchallenged?

I am always on the lookout for image infringement and people who use my pictures illegally. To a certain extent it is part and parcel of the online world, but surely it is something more sinister in the physical world?

What really annoys me is this increasing clandestine photography of my artwork.

What are your thoughts? Is it acceptable or is there a limit to what can be ‘had for free’?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

NYMR 70s Diesel Gala 2016

Class 26 diesel loco 26038 standing at the head of a passenger train at Pickering station on the North Yorks Moors Railway

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

NYMR 70s Diesel Gala 2016

Here is a quick overview of our trip with the art stall to Pickering on the Friday and Saturday of the recent NYMR 70s Diesel Gala.
Our newly released Class 37 digital painting picture was warmly received and sold well.

40013 and 55007 Looking Great

It was great to see Class 40 D213 40013 Andania back in service after a thorough 20+ year restoration looking and sounding great. Hats off to the owners and everyone involved as the restoration looks top notch.

It seemed very strange to see Deltic 55007 Pinza again, even though we know it is 55022 Royal Scots Grey in disguise. I’m not overly sure about the concept of disguising loco identities but the commercial aspects for the owner is obvious. Nevertheless it was great to see an ex works condition Finsbury Park racehorse coloured Deltic, complete with white cab surrounds again.

 Home Fleet Sounding Great

Both small Sulzer Type 2 locos Class 25 D7628 (25278) and 26038 sounded great and 37264 looked good as an authentic Scottish large logo class 37.

From an operating point of view 26038 didn’t have the best of weekends, failing on both the Friday and Saturday. Saturdays failure caused quite significant delays. From a trading point of view we had a good couple of days despite the seemingly low number of attendees.

We are very much looking forward to going back to the NYMR railway for their Autumn Steam Gala running from 30th Sept to 2nd October.

We are at several other events this summer so drop by and see our unique pictures and digital paintings.

Thanks for reading

Gary
