17th January marks the 30th Anniversary of the start of Operation Granby. Operation Granby was the UK Armed Forces component of Desert Storm, what many people call the first Gulf War.
To commemorate the anniversary, we have launched a range of embroidered and printed gifts to honour those that took part in the conflict.
The designs will be launched in several phases and will feature military aircraft and vehicles that took part in the conflict.
The 1st phase was launched to our newsletter subscribers and Facebook group members earlier this week
In the 1st set of designs are the following aircraft –
The 2nd set of designs will be released towards the end of next week and will feature –
Each design has ‘1991 – 2021’ above the aircraft and ‘Operation Granby 30’ below the UK aircraft and ‘Desert Storm 30’ below the US aircraft.
More aircraft and vehicles will be added in the coming weeks – if you have a favourite, why not let me know and I might add it to the range as well!!

If you have seen our stall at a Railway Gala or Airshow, you will know we have a huge range of small pick up gifts for sale. These have proved extremely popular with those who have seen them.
Traditionally I havent stocked these online, reserving them for our shows. With the loss of the 2020 show season, I have had loads of enquiries from customers asking how they can buy them and enquiring about any new designs we might have.
In response to these requests, I have slowly began adding the following smaller gifts to the online store.
We host the fundraising products for these two fine Class 50 locos.
Many of the fundraising gifts are of the smaller variety and havent been available. Coupled with the Covid restrictions on events, 2020 has been a difficult fund raising year.
Many of the newly added smaller gifts feature 50021 and 50026 so your purchase will help these two great locos out.
Remember, profits from everything class 50 themed sold on this site go to 50021 & 50026 as well!!

[divider align=”center” width=”500px”]The first new aircraft type we have added during this update is the Handley Page Hampden.
The Hampden was was introduced in 1936 and was used extensively during the early years of Bomber Commands offensive against German Forces.
A relatively small aircraft, the Hampden was not a huge success and was relegated to Coastal Command and secondary duties as more capable aircraft such as the Lancasters and Halifaxes were introduced into service.
The Hampden depicted in our design is from 44 Squadron and is coded KM-M
[ux_products equalize_box=”true” cat=”5027″ orderby=”rand” tags=”12304″]The second new aircraft type added in this update is the Folland Gnat.
The Folland Gnat was a small jet trainer that may be best remembered as the trusty steed of the Red Arrows aerobatic display team.
The Gnat is reproduced in a high visibility colour scheme featuring bare metal and high visibility orange.

Throughout the Summer of 1940, the skies over Southern England were full of duelling aircraft. The ‘Battle of Britain’ was in full swing. The German air campaign was intended as a prelude to a full invasion of England. Following the fall of France earlier in 1940, German high command saw air superiority as essential before any invasion of England. The Royal Air Force had to be destroyed.
The German war machine was highly experienced and well equipped after gaining useful experience in the Spanish Civil War. On the other hand, much of Britains fighting capability was untested and initially inadequate. The swift fall of Europe and the ensuing retreat, culminating in the Dunkirk evacuations, had left Britain reeling.
Over 400 experienced pilots were lost during the Fall of France leaving an already undermanned and inexperienced Air Force potentially weak and exposed.
The Battle of Britain, was in reality, a series of events and phases over the Summer of 1940. There isn’t a clearly defined start date and the phases, with a couple of noted exceptions, blended into each other.
The Luftwaffe commenced a co-ordinated series of air raids over England in early – mid June 1940 and this is recognised as ‘the start’.
A series of raids on Channel shipping in July and August caused heavy losses to RAF aircraft and crews. The Navy stopped all daylight convoy moves as a result but both sides gained valuable experience.
Early August 1940 saw the launch of Adlerangriff or Eagle Day. This was German High Commands concerted attempt to destroy the RAF in Southern England. The anticipation being it would clear the way for attacking RAF bases further North and heavy bombing raids on economic and strategic targets throughout England.
18th August 1940 became known as The Hardest Day and saw the heaviest losses on both sides.
The main fighter aircraft were the Luftwaffe Messerschmitt ME 109E and the Royal Air Force Hurricane and Spitfire.
Many believe the Spitfire was the main RAF aircraft during the Battle of Britain. In reality the Hawker Hurricane was the backbone of the Royal Air Force at that time. Greater numbers of Spitfires became available as 1940 progressed and did eventually help turn the tide in the Royal Air Forces favour.
In the very early days of the battle, Defiants and Blenheims were used in large numbers but were quickly deemed unsuitable against the potent ME109s and BF110s. Losses of these types were very high in terms of aircrew and aircraft.
Luftwaffe bombers incvluded Heinkel 111s, JU87 Stukas, Dornier DO 17s and Junckers JU88s.
The Royal Air Force remained steadfast against the continuing raids. The task of repelling relentless German waves of experienced aircrew with technically superior aircraft was to become the stuff of legend.
Winston Churchill immortalised the aircrew with his famous speech –

The ‘Aircrew’ design is by far the largest and most complex embroidery released by us so far.
It will be available on the back of our Varsity and Fleece jackets.
The Hurricane and Spitfire will be added as options to our extremely popular Classic Military Aircraft range.
If you arent aware, I have a growing range of aircraft types available which depict aircraft and their service dates. The range is extremely popular and the design can be fully personalised with your choice of Squadron colours, aircraft coding and wording.
Just last week I did a repeat order for a Buccaneer Veteran with personalised Red Flag detailing and also a 31 Squadron Tornado GR1 veteran!
The Heinkel HE111 and Messerschitt ME109 designs will be the first non Royal Air Force aircraft types added to the Classic Military Aircraft range.

We have trialled several different types of face masks, using and washing them extensively prior to settling on the style offered here.
These face masks are comfortable to wear, wash well and the print sits really nicely on the material.
The prints are always on the cheeks of the design so as not to affect the area where you breathe through.
Our face masks are priced at £8 each which includes Postage and Packing to all Mainland UK addresses.
There are literally dozens of railway and aircraft themed face mask designs on the way. I have been busily working away testing new designs, plus converting a few of your solid favourites to a format that will look great on a face mask!

Hi everyone, first things first, I hope you and your loved ones are doing ok in these testing times.
As the Covid 19 situation evolves, I want you to be aware of what we are up to and how it affects your orders.
Heres a quick summary of where we find ourselves as May draws to a close –
We are continuing to run a normal service in regards to all our embroidered clothing and bags. Our blank clothing suppliers are able to run a limited service and we can access the full range of items we need. Delivery from them can vary between 5 or 6 working days when we need to order more blanks so there may be a knock-on effect to your order if we happen to be out of a particular colour/size combination.
We are continuing to experience intermittent issues with our printer. Various repairs have been undertaken but we are still encountering an underlying issue that intermittently stops our production. Please be aware of this when ordering printed products, as unfortunately, there has been an occasional delay to peoples printed orders. We continue to work remotely with guidance from the manufacturer’s tech support staff in an effort to resolve the intermittent fault.
Our supplier of Canvas Prints has temporarily stopped production whilst it implements mitigations to allow production to resume. As a result we will still take orders for Canvas Prints, but they will be held pending until such time as they reopen. We hope this wont be too long in light of the anticipated easing of Covid restrictions for non essential businesses.
There hasn’t been any updated guidance regarding ‘large gathering events’. In light of this, we are still anticipating a minimal show season, if any, in 2020. There is also an underlying health issue in the family which requires careful managing in relation to Covid 19, which adds to the considerations of resuming attendance at public events.
For the foreseeable future, we will remain online only.
This is a real shame as we have some fantastic new ranges to launch, several of which haven’t been seen before on the enthusiast circuit. We were very much looking forward to taking these new products out on the road this year!
Details of the new products will be revealed over the coming weeks and will be available online.
The enforced lockdown has been challenging as I am sure it has been for you guys n gals as well.
The time has been well used by undertaking some necessary, and tedious, website maintenance.
I have spent a lot of time creating new designs and developing product ideas which will be launched over the coming weeks. There is an awful lot for all you railway, aviation and military vehicle enthusiasts to look forward to!!
In addition to this, I have taken been going over customer reviews and feedback and been refining and improving some of our designs.
Our flash sales on Facebook, Instagram and our email newsletters have been going down a storm so keep your eyes peeled for this weeks announcement!!
The items consist of a couple of random items of stock we made up for the ‘not now happening’ show season and putting them up for grabs at knockdown prices!!
Each flash sale will include one railway and one aviation item up for grabs at a great price. Sometimes each social channel will feature different items so each sale gives you a choice of several items!
1st to claim an item gets it – simple as that!
Our loco data panel designs were updated to include a larger size of 400mm x 305mm – this addition has been extremely well received with over 90% of data panel orders being for this larger size!. Most locomotive livery designs have had slight tweaks and improvements.
More classes will be added now that the most popular loco classes are available online.
I will be starting a new series of limited edition loco specific data plates. These will feature some of the unique loco colour schemes and depot special variations that have graced the railways over the years.
I have been very busy designing new aircraft for the extremely popular Classic Military Aircraft clothing range.
Again, following feedback and suggestions, we have a great range of new aircraft ready to take off and join our clothing range!
Just a few of the famous aircraft added include –
Theres loads more classic military aircraft coming as well …. !!
With the recent anniversary of the Dambusters Raid over the weekend of 16th and 17th May, we added a new Dambusters Commemorative clothing range to remember the brave aircrew of that audacious raid.
With 2020 being the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain we will be releasing a commemorative embroidered clothing range featuring 4 iconic Battle of Britain aircraft. The range will see the first Luftwaffe aircraft added to any of our ranges!
Those who have met us on the stall will know my wife Dawn.
Having got bored with ‘too many trains and planes’, she has taken the plunge and set up her own business called 8th Stitch Creations to make things more akin to her interests.
She will still be the backbone of all our in house embroidery, so don’t panic!
8th Stitch Creations allows her creative freedom to make things close to her heart including a very exciting fundraising project for the NHS!!
She is also specialising in unique memory and keepsake products such as memory blankets and so on.
You can find 8th Stitch creations on Facebook so please check out her page and see what she gets up to!!
Please stay safe everyone and we look forward to seeing you again at a show somewhere once this all blows over.
In the meantime, I will do my best to keep you entertained and supplied in railway, aviation and military vehicle goodies!!
All the best for now and stay safe!!!

As another anniversary of the legendary Dambusters raid approaches, we have released a new commemorative range of embroidered designs.
On the night of 16th and 17th May 1943, 19 Lancasters manned by 133 aircrew from 617 Squadron took off for the Ruhr Valley in Germany. In their sights were three dams – the Moehne, the Eder and the Sorpe all which controlled water supplies for the heavy German industry located in the Ruhr region. This mission was a highly risky and dangerous mission that demanded incredible bravery and airmanship of the highest order. The Lancasters flew at low level for the entire mission and the unique Upkeep bouncing bomb had to be dropped from a height of 60ft whilst the pilot maintained 232mph.2 of the dams, the Moehne and Eder, were breached whilst the third was damaged. The cost was huge as 53 aircrew lost their lives and 3 were captured and became POWs.The mission was seen as a huge success in raising morale back at home despite the huge cost to aircrew and airframes.
Our range of Dambusters clothing is our way of remembering the bravery of, not only the 617 Squadron aircrews from that mission but all of those in Bomber Command that took the fight to the Axis forces every night whilst the rest of the Allied forces trained and equipped for the eventual invasion and liberation of Europe in 1944.These latest designs immortalise the dates of that brave mission.
We have a varied range of gifts that will please any aviation enthusiast.
How about a limited edition poster for your wall? You can’t go wrong with a limited edition reproduction poster of the classic 1955 Dambusters film starring Richard Todd and Michael Redgrave! This poster was reproduced in 2018 for the 75th Anniversary of the raid and was commissioned for the Royal Albert Hall performance of the film.Alternatively, why not try our Dambusters aircrew poster that has a drawing of every Lancaster aircraft that took part in the raid along with the names of every aircrew member and their flight roles? We only have a few left so get in before they are all gone!
