334th FS
334th Fighter Squadron
The 334th Fighter Squadron was stood up in 1942 flying Spitfires as an Eagle Squadron of American volunteers pilots.
The squadron transitioned to P-47 Thunderbolts in 1943 and then on to the P-51D Mustang in 1944.
Following the Second World War, the 334th FS saw further action in the Korean War, Vietnam War and 1st Gulf War.
During this period, the squadron operated many iconic aircraft including –
- F-86 Sabre
- F-100 Super Sabre
- F-105 Thunderchief
- F-4 Phantom
- F-15E Strike Eagle
